Property Details
The Apple Lane Western Log Cabin is the most stunning choice for guests looking for a "western-cowboy" getaway. Sleeps up to 10 in beds including the futon in the living room. This is a Genuine hand-hewn log cabin in its own forest with peace and solitude! You will LOVE LOVE LOVE this place!
When you first drive up to the cabin, you will think you have arrived at an oasis in the desert where there are the main cabin and a small additional cabin which is not included but is available for an additional fee. Lush grass and leafy trees (you may help yourself to the Plum, Peach, and Apple fruit trees) keep the property cool and inviting on even a warm day. During the evening you can see deer on the property enjoying the grass and fruit that has dropped from the trees. The main cabin is an authentic log cabin with modern amenities, you will feel like you stepped back in time to the old west when you lift the latch and walk into the cabin.
Vaulted ceilings with skylights bring light into the rooms making it warm and inviting in both lofts as well as the main level. There are traditional (decorative only!) wood-burning stoves beautifully restored in both the cabin and the cottage as well as an oil chandelier (please don’t attempt to light, for decoration only!) with traditional western décor throughout.
When you step into the kitchen, however, it’s all modern amenities with a large modern refrigerator and gas stove along with all the kitchen appliances you could want, crockpot, coffee makers, juicers, bread-maker, etc. that provide you with all the amenities of home. A modern washer and dryer along with a water softening system ensure that you will have clean and fresh clothes along with a very pleasant shower.
Stepping outside there’s a Jenn Air grill on the porch that you can cook on while the kids play in the beautifully landscaped yard with incredibly soft grass. It’s hard to imagine a more perfect family location for a vacation that is centrally located to all the area has to offer. The adjacent cabin is perfect for a couple who want to be alone or for those who want to retire early in the evening or just want some quiet time away from the group. The cottage has a large queen size bed and is tastefully decorated but note that the cottage does not have water or bathroom, electricity only and it can only be booked with the main cabin for an additional charge of $89, note that it is not included with the rental of the main cabin you have to request it be added.
When it’s time for bed, there is a large master suite with a queen-size bed, along with another queen size futon bed in the main loft, plus a pair of twin beds in the second loft that will leave you waking up rested and ready for the day. Add in the queen size bed in the adjacent cottage and you will have sleeping accommodations for the largest of families. When you get back from your day's adventures you will be able to spend relaxing evenings reading books from the well-stocked library or watching movies from the large DVD collection. The entire experience of staying here will make you want to come back time and time again before you have even left! If you would like to see a 3-D tour of the property click here: https://my.matterport.com/show/?m=GLEjqaWuyt3
Guided Horse Rides are available nearby for an additional fee, as are ATV Rentals and River Trips.

Enjoyed our stay here.

You can expect a great view of the stars, hitting your head on the ceilings, hosts coming in at the middle the night to see if you need anything, outdoor country feels, extremely bad WiFi and great board games and DVD’s galore. Overall I enjoyed my stay

So much fun!

The cabin was so fun to stay in. It was perfect for our group of seven and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. There were many board games, card games and a large selection of books. The managers of the property answered all of my questions and the check-in/check-out process was so easy. The location was close to town, but the wooded area behind the cabin made it feel remote.

Check-in was smooth. Location is near a few fishing lakes. We enjoyed star gazing and the solitude that comes with this stay. We saw deer one morning close to the cabin. Host always responded quick and was easy to work with. We enjoyed many cool sites nearby. Goosenecks, Valley of the Gods, Mexican hat rock and sand island petroglyphs are fairly close and saw them all in one day. Would definitely stay here again

Beautiful location and surroundings, this cabin is a perfect place to stay. Everything was as pictured even though we booked very last minute. Jerry was very responsive and kind. Check-in/out was a breeze. This cabin would be great for a family and the kids will love the loft areas. We couldn't have asked for a better stay.

I was traveling with a friend from outside the US. It was so fun to stay in a real log cabin while on our road trip. Blanding is a small town, but we did find a good steak restaurant by talking to the locals. The beds were super comfy too! Good value.

We had a wonderful stay with beautiful sunrises and deer right in the yard at night. The accommodations were clean and the kitchen was well-stocked with pots, pans, plates, bowls and utensils. We did have a problem with the temperature of the home; however, The owner responded quickly to our concerns and the second day was much cooler. Overall, it was a wonderful place to stay.
Pure beauty!
by Jeff

Just like the scenery that surrounds it, it is difficult for photographs to capture the beauty of Jerry's cabin. It's spacious, of course, but all the thoughtful decorations along with subtle scents combine to give a wonderfully warm and cozy feeling throughout each and every room. You'll just have to experience it to understand! We spent our days hiking in Canyonlands/Needles and Natural Bridges and then cooked some delicious dinners (and breakfast!) in that great kitchen. But equally nice was spending time with my wife in the main room (or sitting on the front porch enjoying a quiet evening) while the kids settled in upstairs with a movie or game. Oh! And we stopped at Five Kiva Pueblo on our way to Monument Valley and beyond but could not find the trail across the little canyon... we'll just have to try again next time we're here!!
Very remarkable experience!

Very remarkable experience: We liked the special quality of this beautiful cabin. It allows our imagination to express itself: We was back in the Farwest time (if we ignore all the elements of modern comfort: kitchen, large flat screen, wifi, washing machine). The arrival might look like a descent into hell but it is a little corner of paradise that welcomes us. However, it is not recommended for people of very large sizes

We had a lovely time at this home. We were looking for something to accommodate our family of four children (ages 3-11) while in town visiting family and this really fit the bill. The kids especially loved the loft rooms, board games, and swing set outside. It was charming and something they will remember fondly. Would absolutely stay again!

Good central location. Be aware of the the deer migration area and do not be driving at dawn or dusk. Very clean and comfortable. Great video library. The low head room in parts of the cabin is part of the character of the property!

Beautiful log cabin in an amazing setting, this cabin is so peaceful and relaxing. Coming from Phoenix AZ, we especially appreciated the forest air and breezes. The cabin itself was so clean and roomy and the kids loved the loft and all the wonderful games and movies provided. We hope to be able to come back in the future and spend much more time!

Beautiful clean place. We loved it! There was a nice grassy area outside. There is only 1 bed that doesn't require you to go up a ladder so if you have older people in your group it may not be the best for you. However if you don't I highly recommend it!”

Endroit incroyable pour une nuit Atypique comme jamais ! Petite précision ( pas très importante ) si vous voulez boire une petite bière il faut penser à en acheter sur votre chemin avant Blanding car l’achat d’alcool est impossible dans cette ville 🙂
A hidden gem tucked away in a private oasis!
by Jacqueline
05/20/2019
It's true! This is a hidden gem tucked away in a private oasis! All the rustic characteristics of a cabin with all the modern amenities of a nice home. The property was perfect for us, and exactly as described. Plenty of room for sleeping, eating and visiting. Games, books and videos too! Yes, stairs to loft are steep, but 80 year old grandfather did just fine. Ceiling in the hallway is a bit low for anyone under 5'10 but if you remember to duck, it's worth it for everything else this property had to offer. The host was thorough, prompt and gracious. The location is perfect for most parks ... about an hour away from all the hustle, bustle and higher prices of Moab, plus a beautiful drive at that. We will return!
Very cozy!

Very cozy but large log cabin tucked away in Southeastern Utah. Beautiful placement in the trees and lovely view of the mountains coming and going. Great value, but a bit far from Monument Valley.

“Jerry’s cabin is a perfect place to get away from the city. Super-easy check-in & check-out, lots of kitchen amenities you may need for cooking, big area to explore, very comfortable bed! We are very thankful for the washer and drier — we really needed them after 3 days of cycling in Moab. The only shortcoming is a low ceiling in the kitchen and hall to the master bedroom (if you are 6.2 tall). Watch your head! 🙂 We enjoyed our stay at Jerry’s cabin and would highly recommend it to others.”
A VERY unique cabin!

“This is a unique cabin that is rustic and modern at the same time. It feels very cozy but at the same time quite large. It is very well appointed with a couple of unusual items. One is the 1967 Magnavox Stereo in the master bedroom. It still works and brought back memories of my early teenage years when I turned it on. Have fun its a great place.”

“Nice little cabin in Blanding. We stayed for 3 nights and explored the area sites. Cabin was clean and had all the kitchen amenities you would need. Besides the main master bedroom, there are two other sleeping areas, but keep in mind they are lofts and accessible by open ladder type stairs. Ceilings are low in the kitchen and hallway to bedroom. Watch your head! When in Blanding check out the visitor center, and grab the brochure on Blanding. Great recommendations as to places to see in the area. Also go to the Patio Diner, delicious burger, onion rings & shakes. Very friendly area.”

Jerry’s beautiful cabin was stunning! Lots of wonderful shade on a hot day, and all the modern conveniences made our stay especially great! It is close to wonderful parks and places to get food. Jerry put a lot of thought into the needs of his guests. Thank you!

“This is a beautiful and special property. The log cabin and its green space was a haven arriving after a long and hot day of travel. The plum, pear, and apple trees were beautiful and the deer in the morning were such a treat. Kitchen very well equipped with lots of spices and basics for cooking. The laundry worked very well. Bathrooms beautifully finished. Be advised that the ceilings are a bit on the lower side so watch your head if you are tall. The staircases to the lofts are steep but manageable. Beautiful stay!”

Low kitchen ceiling and doorways are a problem if you are 5’11’ or taller. Hit my head 3 times on doorways. Stairs to loft are very steep and anyone with a handicap the 2 bedrooms in the lofts will not be accessible. Fruit flies were a problem in the house.
Had problems with the tv but the property managers were very helpful and went out of their way to solve the problem cabin was quirky but all in all we enjoyed our stay. Well equipped kitchen.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Apple Lane Cabin. We have several children, and this place was wonderful for them! The yard was wonderful for evening games of hide and seek, kick the can, hide and run, etc... There are two separate loft areas, and my children loved having these two areas just to them.
The kitchen is fully stocked, I could have cooked anything here! Plenty of pans, dishes, and utensils. Not to mention the extra cooking appliances: waffle maker, slow cookers, blenders, mixers, etc... The only trick with the kitchen is that the ceiling is low, if you're taller than 5'10" then you'll have to duck your head in the kitchen area and the hallway leading to the master bedroom.
There is a HUGE video and book library to enjoy. There were movies of all genres, making it easy to find something we could all enjoy.
We really enjoyed the quiet mornings, and watching the deer grazing around the trees that fill the property. My children loved the playground and happily played while we prepared for the day's adventures.
The only disappointment we encountered is in the low ceilings in the kitchen and hallway. Particularly as you're coming from the master bedroom into the kitchen as there is a step down right where the ceiling drops to be lower. Several of us hit our heads on the sharp corner of the ceiling board, and we are not tall people. Perhaps if there were some sort of cushioning to soften the impact that would help.
Overall, we had a wonderful week exploring this beautiful country and relaxing in this wonderful cabin. We would stay here again.
