Bring bath salts!! by Tina 05/24/2018
This house is extremely spacious and can easily accommodate a huge family. It’s very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the Netflix and 3 huge comfy couches! One suggestion- bring bath salts because the master tub is huge and I was so bummed I didn’t have any to make a soak after a long day if hiking. The kitchen is very well equipped- just bring all the food, coffee, drinks you want and the rest is there to cook great meals. In Moab, there’s tons of restaurants- we found Corner 98 which is super healthy and delicious! When I booked it, I had searched for houses in Moab. I didn’t map it ahead of time and unfortunately it’s an hour away from downtown Moab and Arches. The drive there and back everyday was a pain. Interesting enough- the last day we decided to go to Native American ruins listed in the awesome book of instructions and things to do placed on the coffee table. It was coolest day of exploring without the crowds of Moab & Arches.
Just what we wanted for our Utah adventure! by Mindy & Wayne 04/05/2018
The ranch home was close to Monticello, Utah and right off Hwy 191. We took day trips to 4-corners, Monument Valley and Canyonlands National Park. The view of the snow-capped La Sal Mountains from the master bedroom window was wonderful. We stayed toasty warm on the chilly (36°F) April nights. That isn't easy to accomplish in such a big, open floor plan. In the evening, the kids heard coyotes, saw rabbits and deer. They loved it! The kitchen was well-equipped. The two washers and two dryers came in handy after hiking all day. The information in the guest book was very detailed and extensive
Plenty of Deer by Ron Erli 07/20/2017
We stayed at the Horsehead Mountain Lodge for 6 nights. Our family adjusted to it nicely. We were at first disappointed. The property is listed as air conditioned. It has a small 12,000 BTU portable A/C unit which is not enough to make much of a dent in this huge house. When we arrived the house was really warm. It would have been nice if someone had closed the blinds to keep the daytime sun from heating the house before our arrival. The layout takes some getting used to. There is not a good way to separate the bedrooms for privacy. It does sleep a lot of people. We enjoyed having our morning coffee with deer everywhere around the property. If you're looking for a large house to handle a lot of people this might be a good choice. If you're looking for a place that allows for multiple families that want some privacy this may not be the right option.
Very Spacious and Comfy! by Joanne 07/10/2017

“Very spacious and comfortable home with a beautiful view. Close to Monticello for supplies and centrally located for lots of sight seeing. Highly recommend! ”

Very nice property.

Nice place for groups you have plenty of beds and all you need for your stay. I had the impression that there were four separate bedrooms but that is not exactly the case. Works great for a group that can live together. Nice small town and lots to do. Great stay overall.

Beautiful house in quiet, well equipped, with a beautiful view and hinds that venture into the garden. by Séverine 04/24/2017
Beautiful house in quiet, well equipped, with a beautiful view and hinds that venture into the garden. Well placed to radiate in the surroundings. For Moab, a little less than an hour's drive away (as we went 4 days in a row to visit the parks and mountain biking, it seemed a bit long, but in the evening we enjoyed the comfort of the House).
Beautiful and Spacious by Allen 11/21/2016
“The beautiful and spacious house is situated on a beautiful mountain farming area. We took a lot of pictures during sunrise. Very clean and well maintain. We all had a great time there. Love to come back again

Excellent Location! by Michelle K 04/09/2016
Excellent location - we stayed in the Horsehead Mountain Lodge and felt we were very central to the places we wanted to visit. The lodge is very large and easily accommodated our group of 11. With that many people it got a little noisy!Jerry was very helpful and answered questions late into the evening.
We had an awesome time . by Knecht Family 08/25/2015
We had an awesome time . . . visiting Natural Bridges, Mesa Verde, Arches, Canyonlands . . . so much to see and do and so little time. Little did we know what a "gold mine" southeastern Utah is! The Murdock's were very accommodating and helpful. The two largest cabins, The Canyon View and the Blue Mountain Lodge were perfect for our large family. Absolutely everything was available in the kitchen. Wonderful memories!!!!

We loved our stay at Canyonlands lodging. by Avital 03/29/2015
We loved our stay at Canyonlands lodging. Our cabin was beautifully decorated, kitted out and easy. We made a fire every night, fed the birds and got to know the giant white ranch dog, Inga. Our hosts were friendly and attentive, making sure that we were happy and comfortable. The surroundings were beautiful. We took walks around the property and couldn't believe the sheer gorgeousness. Our kids loved it and were delighted to find a tree house to play in. We would absolutely come back.

Response: Thank you for enjoying this with us. Hope to see you back soon.

Unlike many who stay at Canyonlands Lodging for a vacation get away, we rented a cabin to accommodate a family gathering to say our last goodbyes to our dad. by Gretchen 12/29/2014
Unlike many who stay at Canyonlands Lodging for a vacation get away, we rented a cabin to accommodate a family gathering to say our last goodbyes to our dad. From the flexibility of our changing needs, to the homemade bread welcoming us, tothe gentle presence of Inja (the gentle BIG White Dog), we felt wrapped in a soothing cover of peace, beauty and joy. The cabin was impeccably furnished, comfortable, and able to accommodate our family gathering to sustain and uphold each other in a beautiful \'home\'.
We have stayed at many of the Canyonlands lodging cabins. by Currents 08/07/2014
We have stayed at many of the Canyonlands lodging cabins. Always very happy with all of them. Our most recent stay was at the Recapture Cabin. So remote, so quiet, so beautiful. All Solar powered. This is an extremely well built, upper end home, not a cabin. We can't wait to come back. We hunt, fish, and golf in the area. Jerry and Tina have always been so helpful. Thanks for all the great choices. See ya again soon.

I wish there was a "+" on the rating because I would certainly give our stay a 5+ rating. by Alice St 05/19/2014
I wish there was a "+" on the rating because I would certainly give our stay a 5+ rating. The Ranch Cabin was more than we ever expected and Jerry and Tina were excellent hosts and most responsive to our questions. We appreciated their assistance in planning day trips so we wouldn't miss anything. The cabin was very roomy and clean, the kitchen was completely equipped, the bathroom towels were thick and plentiful, and furniture was comfortable, and there was plenty of room. The view from every direction was beautiful. Yes, some of the sites are a bit of a drive, but we knew that and actually found the location to be perfect for us because it was fairly centrally located for the sites we were visiting. I highly encourage anyone who is planning to spend time in this area to stay at one of these cabins.
Excellent cabin and a great location to explore Canyonlands, Arches, and Natural Bridges parks. by Rachel 05/19/2014
Excellent cabin and a great location to explore Canyonlands, Arches, and Natural Bridges parks. The cabin was clean, spacious, and comfortable. We had no trouble finding the cabin from the directions given and would gladly spend another vacation there. A great value for the price and the privacy we enjoy.
